The 6 Week Challenge with Somer Valley Fm
We are achieving something amazing.
The end of week 5
Hi everyone, I can’t believe it’s the end of week 5 already. So much has happened in the last few weeks so let’s catch you up!
Who’s Doing What
The Big Marathon Broadcast is coming up! It starts on Thursday 12th December at 12noon and the grand finale at 2pm on Friday 13th of December. Get in touch with the show any time during the 26 hours by calling 01761 568002, say hi to Luke on our facebook page to make a request or just to keep him awake! https://www.facebook.com/SVFM6WeekChallenge
Also say hi on twitter @somervalleyfm.
Remember to tune in to the breakfast show on the 13th featuring Brian Chalker and Luke, one of our oldest and youngest presenters together doing a multi-generational show! Luke, as promised will be wearing his onesie. Dom will be returning to his early days as a late night DJ, presenting with Luke between 12am and 2am.
Remember we are trying to hit our target to raise money for 2 apprentices for next year. We have done brilliantly so far having reached £8,286, if you can, it would be brilliant if you get in touch and donate to help us. Just visit our website http://www.somervalleyfm.co.uk/6weekchallenge/ and use paypal, or even better come on in to the station. We’d love to see you and keep tuning in during the day as local businesses will be dropping by with their donations and collections and we will be sharing the latest funding updates!
The new transmitter.
We hope that you will be hearing the new transmitter on Friday 13th December from 1pm. This has been 3 years in the planning and it’s finally happening!!
The year 12 students from Downside have achieved their challenge to make a feature on Somer Valley FM. Well done guys! It will be broadcast during the marathon.
Dom has only 450 lengths to go to achieve his target and so is well on course to achieve his goal by Thursday 12th.
Maxine is showing real grit to get to her goal of running 100 miles as she battles with a bad stitch with every run. And yet she is not giving up. Good for you Max, you’re an inspiration.
Selina has been sharing the most beautiful pictures of her crotchet. Her goal was to make 3 Christmas presents. She’s nearly there!
Miranda’s goal has been modified because of an injury so she is now headed towards a 10mile run. Good for you Miranda, love the way you are adapting and not giving in.
Naomi’s challenge of watching a film every day from another country is going well and she is enjoying it very much. Here’s one of her updates http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vf4JPfw7Has&feature=youtu.be
Pamilla is doing very well, with getting fitter, exercising daily and losing weight. She is now powering through her to do list, partly by taking the drastic measure of deleting half of it! Way to go Pam!
I had a good early week, running often and feeling the benefits of getting fitter. Only this hard work resulted into Achilles Tendonitis and I have had to abandon running and the running goal for the time being. I discovered that I enjoyed it, quite a shock, so I will go back to it when my ankle recovers. I got as far as 2 miles non-stop so I’m very pleased with that achievement. I had another potential goal of killing off my to do list. I’m going to spend the next week trying to achieve that.
